On November 16th we arrived to Honduras about 10 am. We were actually up early and got to see as we arrived to Isla Roatan.
As we docked
The port Mahogany Bay was for cruisers only
There were a lot of shops in the port that we shopped at. We bought coffee, shirts, artifacts and some hot sauces.
Then we took a taxi to explore the island...the roads were very narrow and with lots of pot holes didn't help either that the taxi driver drove like a maniac...lol.
The taxi driver took us to a tourist place on a hill where you can see the ocean and most of the island..he then took us to a gas station where Sam bought a twelve pack of beer and cigarettes which was all under 12 bucks. We were very amazed since on the ship he had been paying $24 for a bucket that only contained 4 beers.
Salva Vida...Honduran beer
It was so freaking humid in Honduras that I was sweating in places I had never sweat before..lol. We were in the taxi and I had sweat dripping off my elbows and running down my leg...yeah it was not sexy.
After exploring the island and doing some shopping and sweating half of the food we had ate on the cruise ship we went back to the port. We had some appetizers at Fat Tuesday...where I had a huge margarita, helped Sam drink some of the beer from his twelve pack and then went swimming.
Let me just say that...my esposo is not a beach person so when he got in the water with me...I was very happy ;) and he enjoyed it.
Then we got back on the ship, went to go eat and watched the sun set as we left Isla Roatan
